The times listed to see an emergency medicine doctor are approximate and provided for informational purposes only, and not a guarantee. The time represents the average time it takes a patient to see a doctor* after arrival. Patients may be assessed by medical staff before seeing a doctor. Wait times are updated every 20 minutes.

ER wait times can change quickly depending on the urgency of patients that arrive by ambulance. Akron General’s downtown ER is a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. Akron General provides care to patients with life threatening illnesses first.

* Most physicians at Akron General are independent practitioners.
